We are practiced and trained in Five Element and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture
Herbal Medicine, also called Botanical Medicine or Phytomedicine is the art or practice of using herbs and herbal preparations to maintain health and to prevent, alleviate, or cure disease.
More widely referred to as Fire Cupping, NIH defines Cupping as a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. It helps with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and general well-being, or as deep tissue massage. It most recently gained widespread attention through U.S. media coverage of the Olympics when athletes were seen using this therapy as a method to recover from sport events.
Also referred to as the NADA protocol, this simple treatment can be used for general wellness as well as a supportive therapy to address addiction conditions.
Healing starts at the root...
Our core mission is to share the healing power of acupuncture with patients seeking lasting rooted wellness.
Our practice philosophy is at the center of everything we do, we believe healing starts with actively listening to patients, we want to understand a patient’s health history, challenges, and goals before we begin the acupuncture treatment process.
We are inspired and forever in awe of the human body’s ability to heal itself. It is this innate ability to heal that drives our passion for the practice of acupuncture and traditional medicine. Most of all, we believe in the lost art of patient-centered care, which treats the person not the disease.
The most fulfilling aspect of our practice is the time we have with our patients and the work we do together to support their health. Our dedication to the gentle healing power of acupuncture is fueled by the health outcomes of our patients and their willingness to share their results with others.

Marz Jafari and the team at Healthy Roots Medicine has helped me so much. I came to Healthy Roots hoping that acupuncture could be the solution for stomach pain that I'd been suffering with for more than 6 months. I'd tried massage, physical therapy and dieting. Nothing had helped. After one session with Marz Jafari, my stomach felt better than it had in months. But the impact of treatment went far, far beyond that. Marz quickly assessed other issues I'd been suffering with for far longer, due to extensive business travel (muscle issues, anxiety, poor sleep) and talked about how acupuncture, and some minor dietary adjustments, could help with those. And indeed, he was right. After one session my aches felt better, I experienced a week of the best sleep I'd had in years and I woke up feeling pain-free, refreshed and energized. Marz has great energy, he is incredibly attentive and caring, and clearly a master at what he does. The experience of treatment at Healthy Roots Medicine is positive, easy and professional. I began recommending Marz and to everyone who expressed any type of pain and discomfort.
